An Insider’s Look at All Chemical’s Tank Leasing Services

An Insider’s Look at All Chemical’s Tank Leasing ServicesAt All Chemical, we’re a customer-first bunch, and that means there is no job that we can’t, won’t, or don’t do! (In our industry, that is. We don’t do your taxes or anything.) From washing and steaming to storage and leasing, our valued customers need look no further for all their bulk liquid transportation needs.

You may already be familiar with our tank washing and steaming here at All Chemical. Maybe you’ve experienced our services firsthand, or perhaps you’ve read our behind-the-scenes look at our steaming and washing processes.

Since we have such a large fleet, we also offer tank leasing services!

How Tank Leasing Works

It begins when we receive your call inquiring about leasing a trailer. Our team then verifies the type of product you need to load onto the trailer: an essential step of due diligence, ensuring we lease you a trailer that’s compatible with your product.

We have the fleet capacity to lease to customers for a variety of loads:

  • Chemical trailers
  • Food-grade trailers
  • Kosher-Certified trailers
  • ISO Container chassis

For new customers, we’ll send you a credit application. After receiving approval, we then proceed with setting up your trailer for lease. Once we’ve verified your product, our dispatch team checks our trailer availability and assigns your trailer number.

If you’re an existing customer, we can move straight to the trailer setup, and your trailer can be ready in as little as 24–48 hours.

After the trailer setup, we dispatch a Master Lease Agreement and addendum that you sign and return to us with a COI for each leased trailer. This agreement outlines your responsibilities under the lease, while the addendum includes information about the trailer, lease terms, and cost. Lease lengths vary, from a single day to several months, a full year, or even multiple years!

Why Lease with All Chemical?

So, why choose All Chemical for your tank leasing needs? It’s simple. We offer:

  • better capacity
  • greater flexibility
  • and a more streamlined service experience.

Our fleet capacity at All Chemical is broader than most other bulk liquid transportation companies can provide. Nearly all of our trailers are DOT 407’s, which means they’re designed to transport a wide range of products. Moreover, Kosher-certified carriers like us are hard to come by, and we have the ability to lease Kosher-certified tanks. Our large fleet of FRP tankers are particularly well-suited for carrying commodities corrosive to metal.

Then there’s the flexibility you enjoy as an All Chemical customer. When leasing our trailers, you can choose from an array of pickup and return options. Those who prefer to handle the logistics themselves can collect a trailer from our main terminal in Lakewood and return it to the same location. For those preferring an even more streamlined experience, we also offer delivery services, bringing the trailer directly to your chosen job site.

When you sign with All Chemical, you’re signing on to an optimized, one-stop-shop experience. As with our washing, steaming, and storage services, our tank leasing is conducted entirely in-house, and our fleet is large enough to allow us to provide leasing services without the slightest disruption to our other operations. We eliminate multiple vendor syndrome so that you have the peace of mind that comes with a single point of contact.

Working at All Chemical: A Day in the Life

Working at All Chemical: A Day in the LifeLots of companies say it’s great to work for them. They talk a big game about how they treat their workers well and provide good benefits.

It’s easy to make claims, but the real test is on the ground. How well do these companies live out their values? What do their employees have to say about what it’s like to work for them?

At All Chemical, we pride ourselves on how well we treat our people: both our customers and our team. And that isn’t something we claim about ourselves because it sounds good. We say it because it’s true—and we have the data to back it up. We hear the satisfied customer and staff testimonials; and in the chemical transport trucking industry that’s plagued by driver retention problems, our impressively low turnover rate speaks for itself.

But we don’t think you should have to take our word for it. So, we thought we’d pull back the curtain again, and let you meet a couple of our employees.

That way, you can hear it straight from them: what do they love about working for All Chemical?

Meet Geoff McDade, Truck Driver

Geoff’s worked in trucking for fifty years. He’s been around the block more than once, so he knows what’s out there.

“In all my years in the workforce,” he told us, “All Chemical is by far the best place I’ve ever worked. I left for a bit in the 90s, and I tell Anthony all the time—that was the biggest regret of my life!

“All these years, I’ve seen how they work. They’ve put great systems and processes in place, and the communication from leadership is clear. They’re responsive, too. I remember once I had an issue with a Sunday drop-off, and Matt answered his phone right away and got me the quick, reliable answer I needed.

“It’s a family business, and everyone in the family is a hard and talented worker, bringing something different to the table. They actually treat you like part of their family, too: birthday and work anniversary cards, small meaningful touches like that. The team treats everyone as equals, and they share this honest, hard-working ethic that’s great to be around.

“They train right, too. They’re always telling their drivers to take their time, check their equipment, and make sure everything’s in order, so it’s done right the first time.

“Plus, they go out of their way to make life easier on us: the best tech, the best trucks, the best equipment. Steve just got me the 2023 Kenworth sleeper, and let me tell you, I’m thrilled. All Chemical’s fleet has all the bells and whistles: extra chrome, extra lights. Looks amazing driving down the road.

“Honestly, no company I’ve ever worked for compares!”

Meet Bruce O’Hora, Wash Rack Staff

Bruce has worked on our wash rack for over 3 years. When we asked him what he loved about working for All Chemical, he had this to say:

“The way I see it, this company is doing business the way it should be done, and that’s great to be a part of. Safety’s a top priority, even over productivity. The company values hard work and integrity, and they really walk the walk as far as that’s concerned.

“They make it clear how much they value our health and wellbeing as employees. The pay is well above average, great benefits, and there’s a high quality of life on the job. They provide us with the best equipment and technology. They even make little gestures of appreciation, like weekly lunches.

“Company communication is top-notch. Management has an open-door policy: come in whenever and talk directly to them. Trainings are interactive and involved, so we’re a part of the process, and they really prioritize ensuring that everyone understands. It’s the same with workplace changes, too: anytime something’s new or changing, they include all employees in the plans so everyone knows what to expect and how we’ll be affected.

“There are so many signs that the company is growing, like the new construction at the Lakewood facility—so I’m definitely excited to see what the future holds!”

And there you have it. At All Chemical, we have an excellent company culture not because we say it, but because we do it. We appreciate our employees, and we make sure they know it. Because our team feels appreciated, they go the extra mile—for you.

Reach out today to discuss your needs and find out how you can benefit from our thriving company culture.

Leading from Your Values: Meet All Chem’s Founder, Steve Quadrel

Leading from Your Values: Meet All Chem’s Founder, Steve QuadrelOur customers know we’re a family business, and we have been since the beginning. We’re value-led, committed to our team and our customers, and driven by excellence and innovation. Since our founding in 1978, we’ve been an industry leader in chemical processing and manufacturing.

We learned it all from our company’s founder and owner, Steve Quadrel. He established the very foundation we stand on today, whose values guide not just what we do but how we do it.

You’ve been getting to know us behind the scenes: what makes us tick, what keeps our business successful even in uncertain times. You’ve met our COO, Anthony, and now it’s time to meet Steve.

Sitting Down with Steve

To know Steve Quadrel is to understand his commitment to quality and attention to detail. He has an informal, easy-going personality that belies a sharp business acumen.

We sat down with  Steve to ask about his values, his advice, and his thoughts on the business; and we’re excited to share that conversation with you!

So tell us, would you have any advice for someone starting out in this industry?

“My biggest piece of advice is to share ideas and camaraderie among your peers. You’re not gonna go this alone. Building a team you can trust is what will make or break you in this business. Don’t make the mistake of underestimating that. People who think they can just lone-cowboy their way to the top . . . well, let’s just say, they don’t last long around here!

“Make your company recession-proof. We’re lucky in this industry; chemical companies are natural canaries in the coal mine. When there’s a recession on the horizon, we’re the first to know, because ordering of non-essentials slows down. And when the recession comes, you need a business that’s strong in the essentials. Our mainstays at All Chem—water, power, and pharmaceuticals—are recession-proof. Sure, the world might be falling apart, but people are still gonna need their meds. They still need to flush their toilets, wash their dishes, stay hydrated. They still need to flip a switch and have electricity. If you can’t turn on your coffeepot in the morning, you know there’s a problem!”

Steve grinned for a moment at his own joke, then got thoughtful. “I think the final thing I’d say is, Keep a diversified portfolio. Always be open to new opportunities and expanding your horizons. Companies that can pivot and adapt: those are the companies that survive. But—and this is a big ‘but’—never, ever cut corners when it comes to safety and your company values. You don’t want to pivot away from those. The second you do, you’ve started losing your way.”

What would you say are the values that have led to you being a pillar in the community, with a solid reputation among your clients?

“Look, if you’re good to your community, the community will be good to you. Simple as that. I care about giving back, being of service. When we planned the installation of our Lakewood solar farm, I was thrilled that we could build free charging stations for people to use! Plus, I’m proud that we’re one of the few Kosher-certified providers in New Jersey, especially with a Kosher-grade wash rack. We’re providing something the community needs, and people appreciate that.

“Here’s the way I explain it to my team. I say, think about your favorite restaurant. What makes it your favorite? There’s consistency: every time you go, you have a good experience. There’s friendliness: you’re treated well, they know you. And there’s dependability: the quality of the food is always high. So let’s apply that to our business. How can we provide that level of service to our customers? And the answer is, By having a solid team you can trust. The company is only as good as the people who work for you and alongside you!”

What can you tell us about running a multigenerational family business? How do you make that a success?

“Oh, that one’s easy—easy to say, anyway!” Steve laughs. “At the end of the day, you need to let bygones be bygones. Don’t hold on to things or dredge up grudges. Use your wisdom to be a peacemaker, and remember: it’s family over everything.

How has the transition been to shared leadership with Anthony?

“Seamless,” Steve says without hesitation. “When the time came to appoint a COO, I knew we’d need someone who fit in with our company values. I wanted to install someone who was well-liked and respected, laid back but also incredibly smart and business-savvy. Anthony is all those things and more. I couldn’t be happier with his hand at the helm. It’s really been a transition marked by shared values, and the company is better for it.”

Can you share with us one of your most memorable moments at All Chemical?

“Oh, sure, if you think you’re ready for it,” Steve says, winking. “Let’s see . . . this one takes us back to 1980. My fellow old-timers might remember the water shortage in New York that was happening that year. At one point, the USS Intrepid was pulling into New York harbor, and they didn’t have a drop of water to flush their toilets!

“We got a tanker up there pronto, full of water to pump into the ship. We were stationed on the pier for quite a while, and during that time, some big-name movie directors contacted us. Their filming had ground to a halt because they needed water-based effects, and during a drought, they needed the water brought in. Could we do it?

“It still amazes me to this day,” he said, shaking his head. “Talk about seizing opportunities to pivot and diversify! I launched an entirely new facet of our business: Aqua Effects. If you’d told me that getting into bulk liquid transportation would eventually mean me working for household name productions like Jimmy Fallon and Sex and the City, I’d have said you were crazy!

“Of course, since the advent of CGI, that element of the business has mostly dissolved. But let me tell you, it sure was fun while it lasted!”

That’s our Steve: a man of grit, humor, loyalty to his people, and an unyielding commitment to quality.

Increasing Productivity, Streamlining Processes, and Cutting Unnecessary Costs While Utilizing Existing Resources

Increasing Productivity, Streamlining Processes, and Cutting Unnecessary Costs While Utilizing Existing Resources

Does the idea of enhancing your current performance without adding overhead appeal to you? Imagine being able to increase productivity, streamline processes, and cut unnecessary costs, all while utilizing your existing resources.

Because of All Chemical’s commitment to industry innovation in service to our customers, this isn’t a distant dream—it’s a tangible reality.

What Are Robotic Process Automation Technologies?

RPA is a user-friendly software technology designed to automate digital tasks, saving the labor that workers would otherwise have to expend on repetitive, time-consuming processes.

RPA technologies enable users to create software robots, also known as “bots,” that have the capability to learn, mimic, and execute rules-based business processes. These bots replicate the steps a human would follow, but in an automated format. Tasks that might take 8–12 hours a month for an employee to do manually are completed by the bot in a fraction of the time. Once set up, these bots run themselves, leaving workers free to direct their energy where it’s most needed.

Here at All Chemical, we’ve already set up 13 bots and counting, offloading repetitive tasks where accuracy is key. RPA technologies handle our accounts payable, our tolls violation processes, our batch order updates, our delivery expense reports, and more. We’ve already seen more than 80% improvement in turnaround time.

Now, automation is certainly a hot topic these days, but it’s crucial to set the proper structure and processes in place before jumping on any “shiny new tech” bandwagons. That’s why we proactively partnered with Poka-Yoke Solutions, an organization that excels in process documentation and system setup.

We knew our partners at Poka-Yoke Solutions had the know-how to ensure a smooth, accessible transition to RPA technologies, so that we could deliver reliable, consistent service offerings to you.

How Robotic Process Automation Benefits You

We embarked on the journey to adopt RPA technologies, not as a cost-cutting strategy for ourselves, but with the primary objective of enhancing value for you. Automating traditionally manual and time-consuming tasks delivers a host of benefits:

  • More accurate, timely, and insightful reporting.
  • Streamlined compliance.
  • Greater operational efficiency.
  • Reduction in errors.
  • Valuable business insights through data collection.
  • Reduction in costly work-hours.
  • Preservation of human capital.

And we’re excited to tell you about all this not just because you’re getting more streamlined, accurate, high-quality service from us. We’re excited because of what it might mean for you and your own company. Perhaps, like us, you’re looking to add process automation to your repertoire and leverage your current capabilities without adding overhead.

We use Nividous: a global intelligent automation company whose team helps identify and build out bots for those repetitive, costly tasks. Nividous walks you through set-up, ensuring that the automation is established to the degree of precision required. They’re there for the rollout, and they’re on hand for any troubleshooting afterward. We’ve partnered with them in implementing our RPA technologies, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the result.

To learn more, we invite you to watch the interview with our COO, Anthony Coruccini, for a more significant insight into the world of process automation.

At All Chemical, we’re committed to bringing you the best of innovation. Let’s redefine what’s possible together.

Anthony Weighs In: Where Do We Stand After COVID?

Anthony Weighs In: Where Do We Stand After COVID?

By Anthony Coruccini, Chief Operating Officer

We all felt the shockwaves of the COVID-19 pandemic, in both our personal and our professional lives. Every industry, bulk liquid transport included, experienced drastic change in the face of uncertainty.

Now, in the pandemic’s aftermath, the time has come to ask ourselves: Where do we stand now? What have we learned, and what will we take with us as we forge a new path forward?

Answering the Question by Looking Back

No one could have foreseen the pandemic’s outbreak. However, we started implementing tactics pre-pandemic that carried us through the height of COVID, and these tactics have become routine in our everyday bulk liquid transport business practices. When listening to our customers, we found they shared a growing need for a reliable and stable carrier. From there, we identified and strengthened a stable source of revenue: our on-site container storage.

Answering the Question by Looking Forward

COVID may have prompted us to ask this question. But as it turns out, the answer still applies—even after the pandemic has passed. In the world of sports, an error made during the playoffs is magnified more than a regular game.

For us at All Chemical, every day is now the playoffs.

Fast forward to the present moment, and the landscape has drastically changed. We’re not looking at high demand and labor shortages anymore. Volumes and capacity are volatile. However, we are maintaining a steady capacity to accommodate for this predicted volatility. My advice?

Return to your core values as a company.

This got us through the pandemic, and it still guides us today. We are an innovative, customer-focused bulk liquid transport company with some of the highest safety and service standards around. This, then, is what we’ll be doing:

  • Keeping our ears to the ground and being willing to pivot when necessary.
  • Stretching beyond our comfort zones to accommodate our customers.
  • Putting the customers’ needs first, always.
  • Offering services that others do not, cannot, and will not (in our case, weekend and off-hours availability).

Why? Because we know our customers have options. If we do not consistently deliver, they can easily turn to others who can carry the load. With this in mind, we focus on maintaining consistency and quality in our operations—every day.

In the bulk liquid tranport industry, where consistency can seem elusive, we strive to be the consistent factor that our customers can always rely on. This dedication to service, driven by our core values, is what helps us navigate unpredictability and continue to lead in these challenging times.

So, after the storm clears, where do we stand?

On solid ground. Firm in our values; firm in our ability to face whatever comes next.

Firm in our commitment to you.

The Benefits of Green Initiatives at All Chemical

The Benefits of Green Initiatives at All Chemical

Four Ways We Are Incorporating Innovative Solutions Into Our Operations

By Anthony Coruccini, Chief Operating Officer

All Chemical is striving to make tangible, beneficial changes at our locations to create a more sustainable future for all of us.

We maintain top of the line equipment, find innovative solutions to reuse resources, and strive to be forward thinking by harnessing renewable energy options.

It’s the kind of future where everybody wins.

Why Green Initiatives?

Over the past 45 years, we’ve seen how leading with our values means more benefits for all: for our team, for our customers, and for the business as a whole.

So, when we began focusing on environmentally conscious business strategies, we didn’t adopt them to be trendy or to avoid getting in trouble. It’s just good business sense. Success in business is all about the long game—not short-term profit and ultimate loss.

With green initiatives, we see a whole host of benefits: better, more sustainable profits; higher safety standards; excellent regulatory compliance records; innovative new technologies; and exponential customer satisfaction.

All Chemical’s Green Initiatives

Waste oil burning. Typical oil changes result in “waste oil,” which is incinerated, creating harmful emissions. At All Chemical, we have adopted a green initiative to use this oil without creating emissions.

All our waste oil is strategically stored in a cargo tank for future use, allowing us to draw from it to refill our shop’s tank, as needed.

To burn waste oil, we obtained a state permit to purchase a specialized heater that comes with emissions protections, ensuring there is no black plume of smoke discharged during incineration.

Solar panels. We are excited about our innovative solar farm that is taking shape at our Lakewood headquarters. Construction will be finished at the end of the summer.

Situated strategically on the left of a storm water retention basin stands a unique structure: a concrete pillar supporting a slanted roof, perched atop 40-foot shipping containers.

This structure serves a dual purpose. It stores materials not immediately in use and the slanted roof hosts our solar panels.

Fuel economy. We own and operate a newer fleet that adheres to stringent emissions standards, surpassing commonly mandated regulations.

All our company trucks incorporate the CARB DEF method, a progressive technology that recycles emissions from diesel burn to power the engine, capturing the exhaust with a fluid coupled with additional fuel that is then rerun through the engine.

This practice not only abides by the highest standard of emissions control but also enhances the efficiency of our operations. Additionally, all new trucks built to our specifications are automatics, meaning cost savings on fuel for us and you.

LED office lights. All Chemical’s commitment to green initiatives extends into our office spaces, too.

Our LED lights reduce our carbon footprint while also significantly cutting down our energy costs. Moreover, they last longer, reducing waste and sparing our bottom line—which enables us to spare yours.

Even small-scale green initiatives like these are both beneficial to the environment and advantageous to our customers, proving that sustainability and practicality can indeed go hand in hand.

Join Us in Green Initiative Benefits

We are working toward a more sustainable future, one where we are environmentally responsible and  also operationally efficient. All Chem is a company  that’s got your back—as well as the planet’s.

Kosher-Certified Transportation at All Chemical

Kosher-Certified Transportation at All Chemical

At our bulk liquid transport company, we take care of our people: our team and our customers.

We care about what matters to them. We tune in to their needs so that we can deliver excellent service that meets – and surpasses – their expectations.

This is the value that drove us to create our Kosher-certified transportation service offerings. For some companies, kosher services are just another market opportunity. But that’s not how we see it at All Chemical.

We recognize that kosher certification isn’t just a question of regulations—it’s also about deeply held beliefs and heritage. That matters to us, and it’s why we strive to be both knowledgeable of the requirements of high-quality Kosher-certified transportation and attuned to their crucial significance.

What Does Kosher-Certified” Entail?

Kosher certification refers to the strict requirements of kosher dietary laws for cleanliness, purity, quality, and preparation, as set forth by trusted rabbinic agencies.

When a product is marked Kosher-certified, it means that a rabbinic authority has inspected not only the product’s ingredients, but also the production facility itself—as well as every stage of actual production—to ensure that all ingredients, derivatives, tools, and machinery have no trace of non-kosher substances. As a Kosher-certified carrier, All Chemical has gone through a thorough process called kosherizing.

Under the supervision of a rabbi, our facility has been inspected to ensure that our equipment and all areas of our production lines have been cleaned and purged of non-kosher status, which can involve steaming, boiling, or even direct contact with flames.

In keeping with rabbinic protocol, this process was only completed after the equipment stood idle for at least 24 hours, followed by a rabbinical inspection.

With the Kosher-Certified symbol, consumers can be assured that all Kosher Law requirements were met or exceeded during production. Our team is well-versed in the intricacies of these laws, so customers can trust that their product is in good hands with us.

Our Kosher-Certified  Bulk Liquid Transport Services

The kosher food industry represents a large portion of the world.

In North America alone, its market size is about $16 million. Worldwide, these numbers rise: the Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher—the largest, most widely recognized international kosher certification agency—certifies over one million products in more than a hundred countries around the world.

We knew we’d seek kosher certification with this best-known trademark; their standards of excellence align well with our own, after all. As a Kosher-certified carrier, All Chemical has the equipment and washing processes in place to haul any product certified as kosher.

We also offer two types of Kosher-certified washes:

  • Kosher maintenance washes
  • “Re-kosherization” washes

Our Kosher maintenance washes take tanks already in kosher service through multiple steps in a thorough cleaning process to keep them up to the highest certification standards. First, we do a 190-degree interior wash, followed by a Kosher-certified detergent and a second, thorough rinse to ensure no residue remains. After this, we steam the interior, opening the “pores” in the stainless steel to flush any residual odors out of the tank. The result? Exceptionally clean containers that are primed and ready for the next job.

Our second type of wash—the re-kosherization wash—allows us to upgrade any piece of equipment to Kosher-certified specifications. We can take tanks in non-kosher service (standard chemicals, in other words) and put them through a specific series of washes that bring them up to the strict regulatory requirements for any piece of Kosher-certified equipment. This goes for tankers or containers that have been out of kosher service for a while, too. Our thorough, Kosher-compliant washing process can return them to the Kosher-certified status they once had, rendering them ready to serve the needs of this important and robust sector.

So, if you’re planning ahead for this year’s Jewish High Holidays, or simply looking for a Kosher-certified bulk liquid transport company you can trust, contact us! We have the expertise required to deliver seamless service in the growing, vital world of Kosher-certified transportation.

Safe Summer Driving Tips from All Chemical

Safe Summer Driving Tips from All Chemical

We’ve all been there: You’re driving in the right lane, ready to take an exit in a few moments, when suddenly someone decides to make a mad dash across multiple lanes of traffic, cutting in front of you. You blast your horn at the offender, who goes sailing blissfully down the highway, off to some cookout or Fourth of July fireworks display while you’re left shaken from the close call.

Frustrating—and dangerous. Scenes like this can be even more common as summer brings a host of challenging driving conditions. But not to worry; as a leader in safety-conscious driving for our bulk liquid transport industry, we at All Chemical are here to share our wisdom and observations with you.

Safety-Conscious Summer Driving

Our rigorously trained drivers can all attest to our enthusiasm for road safety! With all of our drivers successfully completing the Smith System driver trainings, we’re continually reinforcing crash-prevention skills and knowledge to demonstrate our commitment to responsible driving – no matter the season.

So, as the summer months get underway, we aren’t just preparing our drivers for the changing conditions. We also have you in mind. Rather than simply wishing everyone luck as they hit the roads, we encourage all drivers to take extra precautions and know what to expect.

Summertime’s fireworks, cookouts, and beach days fill the roads with vacationers. With the increased adventuring and celebrating, more cars on the road also mean more traffic and a higher potential for distracted driving:

  • Parents fielding kids’ requests and refereeing backseat squabbles
  • Out-of-towners looking up directions
  • “Summer tunes” enthusiasts fiddling with audio settings
  • Cars full of friends too busy talking and laughing to pay close enough attention to the road

Plus, summer means high school and college graduations, and an influx of enthusiastic new drivers eager to explore their newfound freedom. Younger drivers won’t have the same level of experience behind the wheel, so extra patience and alertness is key—not just for new drivers, but for all the rest of us who are sharing the road with them. All Chemical encourages experienced drivers to set a positive example by maintaining proper safety protocol on the roads and reminding young drivers to stay alert and responsible.

Be Prepared for Changing Road Conditions

Inexperienced or distracted drivers aren’t summer’s only challenge. Severe weather events can bring rain, wind, and generally poorer visibility conditions, creating hazards for all types of drivers. Be sure to check the forecast before setting out and adjust your driving accordingly.

In addition, construction is more prevalent in warm weather months than it is during winter, so unexpected travel delays become par for the course. At All Chemical, we are all too familiar with the delays caused by summer construction. For us, it’s second nature to stay informed of road construction before heading out.

Casual drivers, however, often don’t know to factor this construction increase into their plans. That’s why we advise drivers to check for road construction and other traffic delays ahead of time to ensure a safe and efficient trip.

While summer can be a great opportunity to explore the world around us, it’s important to stay safe on the roads. As we wish you all a Happy Fourth of July, All Chemical encourages all drivers this season to take extra precautions and practice safety-conscious driving. Let’s make everyone’s summer journeys as safe and comfortable as possible!

And if you’re looking for a safety-conscious trucking company to handle your bulk liquid transport needs, give us a ring! We’re always on the job—fireworks and cookouts notwithstanding.

Putting All Chem Drivers’ Safety First with the Smith System

Putting All Chem Drivers’ Safety First with the Smith System

Drivers are Certified in Crash-Avoidance Driver Safety Program

At All Chemical, we make a habit of staying ahead of the curve in terms of safety with our liquid trucking company. We didn’t wait for the electronic log or ELD mandates to get handed down to us; instead, we became one of the early adopters.

When it comes to highway safety, we’re committed to achieving the highest standards in excellence. That’s just who we are. We’re already attaining and surpassing industry safety benchmarks for liquid bulk transportation companies.

And that’s why we made sure 100% of our drivers took the Smith System DriverDirect™ training course over the past 12 months.

All Chemical’s on the Job: The Need for Crash Prevention
Crashes are a serious issue in our industry. In Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s most recent Crash Facts report, large trucks accounted for 4,444 fatal crashes and 101,000 injury crashes. Statistics like these are what convinced the founder of the Smith System, Harold Smith, of the industry’s need for a comprehensive professional driver training program, which he instituted in 1952.

We knew we’d be giving our drivers the best when we made the Smith System course mandatory at All Chemical. Their safety training has won international acclaim; tens of thousands of drivers go through the program annually, including those in many of the Fortune 500 companies that consider All Chemical their preferred carrier.

“It was a no-brainer,” said Don Wrege, the Director of Safety & Maintenance at All Chemical who launched the program. “The training saves lives, prevents property damage, protects the public, enhances our drivers’ careers, and gives our customers much-deserved peace of mind. Everybody wins.”

Crash Prevention Training: What’s in the Course?
Every one of our drivers is required to become certified in the 5-principals of Smith System crash-avoidance driver safety program. The program gives us our template to strive toward zero losses in motor vehicle accidents and injuries. Our drivers must take this training every two years to remain certified, as well as passing periodic checks by the All Chemical Driver Trainer, who is a Smith System Driver Direct certified trainer. In this way, we are regularly instilling in our drivers the crash-prevention skills and knowledge necessary to ensure that everyone reaches their destinations safely.

The course encompasses a classroom component (2–2.5 hours) and a behind-the-wheel component (4.5–5 hours). In the classroom, drivers learn the proven Smith5Keys® philosophy, followed by a presentation in forward motion, backing, and parking crash prevention methods, and an explanation of recent National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highway statistics. Quizzes to support retention are given.

Then each driver takes to the road for a series of observation drives and an instructor demonstration drive, complete with personalized coaching, backing and parking exercises, and blind area demonstrations. Once finished, drivers must pass an on-road quiz and final evaluation.
