Servicing Companies During Summer Surges

Servicing Companies During Summer SurgesFrom May to August, when the A/C is on and the pressure to deliver is high, our expertise becomes even more critical. As temperatures soar and utility bills spike, water and power companies face increased operational demands. At All Chemical, we understand (and anticipate) these seasonal challenges and are committed to providing reliable and efficient support to these companies to keep essential services running smoothly. This is your behind-the-scenes guide to the types of demand we experience, and our expert levels of preparation.

Rising Resource Demand in the Heat of Summer

During the summer months, the demand for water and power surges. Public pools open, air conditioners run nonstop, and overall consumption peaks. This time frame also sees an uptick in the need for maintenance and repairs, especially for power transformers that need oil removal for disassembly and reassembly. Similarly, water companies require more process chemicals (such as fluorosilicic acid, ferric chloride, and bleach) to ensure safe and clean water supplies. We consistently observe heightened activity by our water and power customers from late spring through the height of summer. Unique requests, quick turnarounds, or specific needs… we’ve got all the tools we need to be a partner ready to jump into action.

Ensuring Employee Safety in High Temperatures

At All Chemical, we prioritize both the safety of our personnel and the integrity of the chemicals we transport.

Here’s how we manage:

  • Hydration and Cool Down Protocols: Around our terminals, we maintain hydration stations and ensure our team stays cool and hydrated, taking breaks from the heat as needed.
  • Extended Transit Times: On the road, we allow extra transit time to account for potential issues caused by the heat. This ensures a safe journey without compromising delivery schedules.

Temperature-Controlled Storage and Transport

For temperature-sensitive loads, we use advanced insulation techniques that function like a thermos, maintaining a stable temperature throughout the transport. This ensures that the chemical properties remain unaffected, even in the sweltering summer heat.

Regulatory Compliance in Extreme Heat

Compliance with regulations is non-negotiable, especially when transporting hazardous materials in extreme temperatures. We employ virgin tires—avoiding recapped tires that can fail under heat stress—and perform rigorous inspections to prevent mechanical issues. By using high-quality tires and equipment, we minimize risks associated with excessive heat.

Safety Protocols and Emergency Preparedness

Safety is our top priority. To prevent heat-related incidents:

  • Avoiding High-Risk Routes: We steer clear of notoriously congested and hot routes.
  • Enhanced Equipment Checks: Our maintenance checklists are more thorough during extreme temperatures, with a strong emphasis on tire pressure and coolant levels.
  • Flexible Delivery Schedules: We may adjust our delivery schedules as allowable by customer demand to avoid unsafe conditions and communicate changes with our customers.

Ensuring Reliable Deliveries During Peak Summer Months

High demand and challenging conditions can strain delivery schedules, but our commitment to reliability never wavers. Our customer service team works closely with our logistics department to adjust routes and schedules as needed, ensuring timely deliveries.

Why All Chemical is Your Trusted Partner in the Summer Surge

When the summer heat makes you sweat, choose a partner who can handle the increased demand with expertise and reliability. With our advanced safety protocols, meticulous equipment maintenance, and flexible delivery options, we ensure that your operations run smoothly, no matter how high the mercury climbs.

Streamlined Solutions: Your ISO Container Go-To

Streamlined Solutions: Your ISO Container Go-ToISO containers are the unsung heroes of modern logistics. Most of us click “order” and a box appears on our doorstep, seemingly by magic. For those behind the scenes, ISO containers are a daily focus, pivotal in keeping our world running smoothly.

At All Chemical, we’re passionate about providing top-notch ISO container services. Our goal is to help your life and business run seamlessly with these versatile shipping solutions.

What Is an ISO Container?

An ISO container, also known as an intermodal container, is a standardized, steel box designed to specific dimensions and used to transport goods via multiple modes (think ships, trains, and trucks). Though they come in a few sizes, the most common are 20-foot and 40-foot lengths. Each container is built to specifications set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which ensures ease and efficiency of transport across the country—even across continents and oceans!

History of ISO Containers

Before we had these containers, invented by an American trucker named Malcolm MacLean in 1954, shipping was much more precarious and time-consuming. Your goods might make it to port, but chances were high they’d get damaged during loading and unloading. The packing crates might not fit below deck of the only ship available to take them the next leg of the journey.

And you’d better believe such clunky methods took a lot of time. Once the ISO container came on the scene—and especially after its construction was standardized internationally in 1972—all that hassle became a thing of the past.

Benefits of ISO Containers

Today, we can’t imagine life without the ISO container. These impressive containers represent a cornerstone of modern logistics, facilitating the global movement of goods efficiently and reliably. They offer three central benefits:

  • Standardization. Since each container adheres to universal standards, they’re compatible with multiple shipping systems worldwide, streamlining operations and reducing the complex logistics involved in cargo handling.
  • Security and Protection. Durably built to withstand the rigors of long-distance travel, these containers reliably protect goods against the elements and damage from transit.
  • Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness. The standardized fitting of each container ensures easy stacking and securing, optimizing cargo loading and unloading, which leads to faster turnaround and lower costs. Their modular design uses all transportation space to the utmost, maximizing efficiency.

Without this wonder of modern shipping technology, most of the conveniences that make up our everyday lifestyle would be out of reach. In fact, you could say that ISO containers make the world go round!

Top-Tier Transportation: Our Commitment to Cutting-Edge Equipment

Top-Tier Transportation: Our Commitment to Cutting-Edge Equipment We believe that innovation drives progress and that staying ahead of the curve is not just a strategy; it’s a necessity. Owning and maintaining our own state-of-the-art equipment plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service.

As pioneers in our field, we are dedicated to employing top-of-the-line machinery across all our service areas, setting new standards for excellence and efficiency.

Eco-Conscious Solutions

As a company that pursues green initiatives at every turn, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our carbon footprint. That’s why we have integrated the CARB DEF method into all our company trucks. This progressive technology not only recycles emissions from diesel burn to power the engine but also captures exhaust with a fluid coupled with additional fuel, which is then rerun through the engine. By adopting this approach, we ensure that our operations are green and efficient.

Expansive Reach

With a fleet of newer equipment at our disposal, we are more than capable of hauling products across the entire continental U.S. and parts of Canada. Our day-cab and sleeper tractors enable us to undertake both short and long haul trips, providing our truck drivers with everything they need to make a safe, comfortable trip. Moreover, we have strategically allocated our services and equipment nationwide, focusing on key areas where on-demand assistance is most needed.

Diverse Equipment Portfolio

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the diversity of our equipment portfolio. Here are just a few examples of the cutting-edge machinery we own and operate:

  • Tankers: With over 310 tankers in our fleet, we specialize in transporting various types of liquid products, including oils, chemicals, and Kosher-certified materials.
  • ISO Container Chassis: Our fleet comprises over 140 ISO container chassis, which are essential for intermodal transportation and container transfers.

Adding Value & Versatility: Inside Our Transload Logistics

Adding Value & Versatility: Inside Our Transload LogisticsOur team at All Chemical specializes in transload logistics, such as taking on complex projects like the transloading of chemicals from ISO containers to tanks.

Transloading products requires careful planning and execution to prevent any accidents or spills. Our team is committed to upholding the highest safety standards throughout the transloading logistics process.

Transloading involves transferring commodities from one mode of transportation to another. In our case, we often transload hazardous and non-hazardous bulk liquids from our customers’ ISO containers into our trailers.

We are known for our ingenuity and our customizable service offerings, which includes transloading. Because there is nothing we cannot, will not, or do not take on, this has led us to some unique transloading experiences.

Seamless, Customized Transloading Services

Transloading allows for products to continue their journey to their final destination using a different mode of transportation, or to consolidate shipments for greater efficiency. This plays a crucial role in supply chain optimization.

This is transloading 101:

  • There are many variables to take into account when transloading a customer’s order: viscosity, ambient temperatures, and container specifications, to name a few!
  • On average, the process takes an hour and a half to 2 hours. That’s a rough estimate, because we take as much time as needed to get the job done right.
  • We transload just about anything with the exception of heavy inhalation hazard chemicals, like Benzoyl Chloride. In our rigorous commitment to safety, we don’t handle chemicals that could pose a safety risk to our team or the surrounding community.
  • We can pick up your container from the pier, bring it to our facility to steam before, and wash after delivery, too!

There are a multitude of reasons why All Chem is everyone’s top choice. Between our dedicated problem solving, our stellar customer service that begins with “Sure, we can do that. How else can we help?”, it’s also because…

We are one of a handful of transload facilities in New Jersey, and our secondary containment capabilities put us a level above.

Not only are we one of the only facilities that can transload, we also aren’t stopped by inclement weather! While weather is a challenge for other carriers, if there is rain or snow, we can easily move operations to our roof-enclosed wash bays. Even better, we have lengthy processes in place to prevent rain from getting into the tank and potentially contaminating the product.

Rain, sleet, and snow… we’ve got you covered!

Over the past few years, we have made significant investments in secondary containment. If a spill or hose breakage occurred during the transloading process (or any of our other transportation services), it’s much more manageable and isolated. There would be no sewage seepage into the ground, waterways and drains. Remember, we are fully compliant in secondary containment regulations with NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection)!

We’ll Take It From Here

From a standard, routine transloading move to a complex and intricate request, we’ve got it covered.

We prioritize safety, efficiency, and innovation in everything we do, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality of service, innovation, and flexibility every time, for every job.

Trust us to deliver excellence every step of the way, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience for your transloading needs and beyond.

An Insider’s Look at All Chemical’s Tank Leasing Services

An Insider’s Look at All Chemical’s Tank Leasing ServicesAt All Chemical, we’re a customer-first bunch, and that means there is no job that we can’t, won’t, or don’t do! (In our industry, that is. We don’t do your taxes or anything.) From washing and steaming to storage and leasing, our valued customers need look no further for all their bulk liquid transportation needs.

You may already be familiar with our tank washing and steaming here at All Chemical. Maybe you’ve experienced our services firsthand, or perhaps you’ve read our behind-the-scenes look at our steaming and washing processes.

Since we have such a large fleet, we also offer tank leasing services!

How Tank Leasing Works

It begins when we receive your call inquiring about leasing a trailer. Our team then verifies the type of product you need to load onto the trailer: an essential step of due diligence, ensuring we lease you a trailer that’s compatible with your product.

We have the fleet capacity to lease to customers for a variety of loads:

  • Chemical trailers
  • Food-grade trailers
  • Kosher-Certified trailers
  • ISO Container chassis

For new customers, we’ll send you a credit application. After receiving approval, we then proceed with setting up your trailer for lease. Once we’ve verified your product, our dispatch team checks our trailer availability and assigns your trailer number.

If you’re an existing customer, we can move straight to the trailer setup, and your trailer can be ready in as little as 24–48 hours.

After the trailer setup, we dispatch a Master Lease Agreement and addendum that you sign and return to us with a COI for each leased trailer. This agreement outlines your responsibilities under the lease, while the addendum includes information about the trailer, lease terms, and cost. Lease lengths vary, from a single day to several months, a full year, or even multiple years!

Why Lease with All Chemical?

So, why choose All Chemical for your tank leasing needs? It’s simple. We offer:

  • better capacity
  • greater flexibility
  • and a more streamlined service experience.

Our fleet capacity at All Chemical is broader than most other bulk liquid transportation companies can provide. Nearly all of our trailers are DOT 407’s, which means they’re designed to transport a wide range of products. Moreover, Kosher-certified carriers like us are hard to come by, and we have the ability to lease Kosher-certified tanks. Our large fleet of FRP tankers are particularly well-suited for carrying commodities corrosive to metal.

Then there’s the flexibility you enjoy as an All Chemical customer. When leasing our trailers, you can choose from an array of pickup and return options. Those who prefer to handle the logistics themselves can collect a trailer from our main terminal in Lakewood and return it to the same location. For those preferring an even more streamlined experience, we also offer delivery services, bringing the trailer directly to your chosen job site.

When you sign with All Chemical, you’re signing on to an optimized, one-stop-shop experience. As with our washing, steaming, and storage services, our tank leasing is conducted entirely in-house, and our fleet is large enough to allow us to provide leasing services without the slightest disruption to our other operations. We eliminate multiple vendor syndrome so that you have the peace of mind that comes with a single point of contact.

Kosher-Certified Transportation at All Chemical

Kosher-Certified Transportation at All Chemical

At our bulk liquid transport company, we take care of our people: our team and our customers.

We care about what matters to them. We tune in to their needs so that we can deliver excellent service that meets – and surpasses – their expectations.

This is the value that drove us to create our Kosher-certified transportation service offerings. For some companies, kosher services are just another market opportunity. But that’s not how we see it at All Chemical.

We recognize that kosher certification isn’t just a question of regulations—it’s also about deeply held beliefs and heritage. That matters to us, and it’s why we strive to be both knowledgeable of the requirements of high-quality Kosher-certified transportation and attuned to their crucial significance.

What Does Kosher-Certified” Entail?

Kosher certification refers to the strict requirements of kosher dietary laws for cleanliness, purity, quality, and preparation, as set forth by trusted rabbinic agencies.

When a product is marked Kosher-certified, it means that a rabbinic authority has inspected not only the product’s ingredients, but also the production facility itself—as well as every stage of actual production—to ensure that all ingredients, derivatives, tools, and machinery have no trace of non-kosher substances. As a Kosher-certified carrier, All Chemical has gone through a thorough process called kosherizing.

Under the supervision of a rabbi, our facility has been inspected to ensure that our equipment and all areas of our production lines have been cleaned and purged of non-kosher status, which can involve steaming, boiling, or even direct contact with flames.

In keeping with rabbinic protocol, this process was only completed after the equipment stood idle for at least 24 hours, followed by a rabbinical inspection.

With the Kosher-Certified symbol, consumers can be assured that all Kosher Law requirements were met or exceeded during production. Our team is well-versed in the intricacies of these laws, so customers can trust that their product is in good hands with us.

Our Kosher-Certified  Bulk Liquid Transport Services

The kosher food industry represents a large portion of the world.

In North America alone, its market size is about $16 million. Worldwide, these numbers rise: the Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher—the largest, most widely recognized international kosher certification agency—certifies over one million products in more than a hundred countries around the world.

We knew we’d seek kosher certification with this best-known trademark; their standards of excellence align well with our own, after all. As a Kosher-certified carrier, All Chemical has the equipment and washing processes in place to haul any product certified as kosher.

We also offer two types of Kosher-certified washes:

  • Kosher maintenance washes
  • “Re-kosherization” washes

Our Kosher maintenance washes take tanks already in kosher service through multiple steps in a thorough cleaning process to keep them up to the highest certification standards. First, we do a 190-degree interior wash, followed by a Kosher-certified detergent and a second, thorough rinse to ensure no residue remains. After this, we steam the interior, opening the “pores” in the stainless steel to flush any residual odors out of the tank. The result? Exceptionally clean containers that are primed and ready for the next job.

Our second type of wash—the re-kosherization wash—allows us to upgrade any piece of equipment to Kosher-certified specifications. We can take tanks in non-kosher service (standard chemicals, in other words) and put them through a specific series of washes that bring them up to the strict regulatory requirements for any piece of Kosher-certified equipment. This goes for tankers or containers that have been out of kosher service for a while, too. Our thorough, Kosher-compliant washing process can return them to the Kosher-certified status they once had, rendering them ready to serve the needs of this important and robust sector.

So, if you’re planning ahead for this year’s Jewish High Holidays, or simply looking for a Kosher-certified bulk liquid transport company you can trust, contact us! We have the expertise required to deliver seamless service in the growing, vital world of Kosher-certified transportation.

Inside All Chemical’s Steam And Wash Services

Inside All Chemical’s Steam And Wash Services

How We Bring You Unparalleled Customer Service

Picture the scene: it’s Friday, 4 PM. We’re on the phone with a customer, and they are panicking. They need a delivery with ISO tank container steam heating services by Monday morning. Normally, they schedule ahead, but the customer sent them a last-minute order.  Or, they were so busy putting out some internal fires at their own company that they forgot to book the steaming.

They’ve had this happen before on deliveries with other companies, only to be told Sorry, no rush orders. Call back during Monday business hours.

“I know this is last minute, but can we get a delivery at temp on Monday? Product has to be at 120 F.”

That Monday —after pulling their product from its place 35 back in the stack, setting it through the steam process, and delivering it on time—the customer called us.

They were ecstatic. “I’ve never had this level of service before! I can’t believe it.”

All Chemical: ISO Tank Heating Services and Rush Jobs

Look, we all know scheduling ISO tank container steam services, and really anything in general, in advance is ideal, and most of the orders we receive come with plenty of notice. But let’s be honest: sometimes, life happens. And when it does, we at All Chemical pride ourselves on offering our customers weekend and off-hour services, when most other companies can’t or won’t.

Plus, our services are a one-stop-shop kind of deal: we couple product steaming with interior tank and container washing to provide customers with the highest all-around convenience factor. Once the load has been steamed and delivered, we can bring back the tank or ISO container to the lot for a full wash.

Behind the Scenes: What’s in a Steaming?

So, how do we do it? It all starts by gathering the necessary information via a “steam sheet”: the container number, background info on the product, start and finish date, target temperature range, and the anticipated time it will take to steam the product to the specified parameters.

That time varies with ISO tank heating. Some products steam in a day, or even in a couple hours. Some need to go as high as 200 degrees F. Other products we handle require “1 bar” or low-pressure steam to avoid burning the product or overheating.  This could have severe consequences both for safety as well as for the integrity of the product. Sometimes, the product has been stored for months in advance at ambient temperatures, or even stored cold in stacks on concrete pads in containment; in these cases, steaming can take longer (up to 4–6 days in some cases).

When the product has reached the right temperature, it’s ready for us to deliver.

How Are All Chemical’s ISO Container Steam Heating Services Unique?

At All Chemical, we’re knowledgeable of all the factors related to our steam services, and we coordinate for our customers from that foundation of expertise.

In addition to our overall expertise, we boast these unique options:

  • Low- and high-pressure capabilities
  • Steam-regulating capabilities
  • Hot Water Heating (this is rare for most wash racks)
  • Capability to put 50+ containers out on a steam
  • Redundancy with two independent steam boilers
  • 24/7/365 On-call boiler maintenance (if there’s an issue, we fix it immediately)
  • 24/7 monitoring with fixed interval monitoring as required by the customer

And not only can we accommodate unique steam requests, we provide tank washing: standard chemical washes, food-grade washes, Kosher-grade and Kosher-maintenance washes, and diesel washes.

So, don’t wait till you’re panicking at the close of business day on Friday. Reach out to us today for your steam service needs.

Why Summer Makes Challenges for Water Treatment

Summer isn’t the only time we’re hauling treatment agents for our customers. Water treatment happens year-round, which means our bulk tanker carriers are hauling the needed agents year-round, too.

But in the summer, the demand for treatment agents skyrockets: meaning less-prepared, less-experienced carriers might saddle you with shipping delays and facility shutdowns. If other liquid bulk transportation companies can’t deliver, All Chemical has the capacity to take on those last-minute, late afternoon, or even weekend orders.

Why the skyrocketing demand in summer? Because water treatment is all about managing biological and chemical changes, and these changes are temperature-dependent. Just like the heat brings the mosquitos back, the summer temperatures make chemical reactions speed up, necessitating more frequent water treatments.

That’s why All Chemical’s timely services are so important to have on your side in the summer months. With our expertise and forethought, we work with our customers to plan for their facility’s needs. We can be relied on to get the necessary chemicals to where they are needed, when they are needed.

So, don’t wait until a summer shipment delay has you panicking.

Give us a call, and sit back and enjoy the summer while we handle your ongoing water treatment needs with competence, timeliness, and ease.

And maybe buy a citronella candle, while you’re at it. (Mosquitos aren’t really our department.)
