Advancing Environmental Excellence: Inside Our New Wastewater Treatment Facility

Advancing Environmental Excellence: Inside Our New Wastewater Treatment Facility Welcome to an exciting update from All Chem! We’re thrilled to share the latest addition to our infrastructure: our brand-new wastewater treatment facility.

This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone in our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Join us as we delve into the details of this innovative construction project and explore how it expands our capabilities to better serve our customers.

Spotlight on Wastewater Treatment Facilities

Our stellar containment rating is in large part due to our new wastewater treatment facility! This is a major upgrade from our previous micro filtration system that could only clean soluble products broken down in water.

Details about All Chemical’s wastewater treatment facility:

  • This facility is a state-of-the-art Siemens model.
  • Construction on the facility started March 2023 and ended October 2023.
  • We have 2 processing tanks equaling 13,000 gallons of holding space!

How does it work?

All tank wash fluid from cleaned tanks and containers feeds into one pit with corresponding floats near max capacity. When the float raises, it kicks on one of the pumps and fills the primary tank. When that tank gets to 95% full, the primary pump shuts down and starts up another pump to fill the diversion tank.

Since this process is carefully monitored, an All Chem employee keeps a close eye on the tank’s LED gauges to understand the exact moment to start draining the water from the process tank into the waste reaction tanks.

The wastewater undergoes processing in distinct stages.

  • Dependent on the PH levels, the system adds either caustic, sulfuric acid, or polymer at differing increments.
  • The reaction tank features an agitator that drops in dissolved air flotation (DAF), designed to push the solid particles to the top.
  • Simultaneously, a cycling scraper skims the solids into another compartment that’s pumped into a sludge box that resembles a roll off dumpster. When the sludge box is full, we call our friends at the waste facility to properly dispose of the byproduct.

The remaining chemical treated water drops into an effluent pump and it’s off onto its next phase of the journey… to the city sewage facility!

Our wastewater treatment facility and DAF system mean we have a limitless capability to treat the varying types of non-poisonous chemicals that we transport.

A New Era of Environmental Stewardship

The completion of our wastewater treatment facility this past year represents not only a significant investment in our infrastructure but also a testament to our dedication to providing top-notch service and environmental responsibility.

With this new facility in place, we are equipped with enhanced capabilities to handle a wide range of non-poisonous chemicals, ensuring the utmost safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

As we continue to innovate and evolve, rest assured that All Chem remains steadfast in our mission to deliver excellence at every turn, offering  customers unparalleled service and environmental sustainability for years to come.

4 New ISO Container Storage Pads

We have the capacity, redundancy, and resources to pick up and deliver your container, and provide long-term storage.

Even better, we achieved these goals while remaining 100% operational. While expanding our wash bays and wastewater facilities, we utilized 3 roof overhangs to address the issue of secondary containment. Installing these overhangs extended the longevity of our systems and our technology—all while making it possible for us to continue servicing our full customer base without interruption.

And we didn’t just do this in the arena of construction and expansion. We took our passion for improvement into other technological systems and processes at All Chemical this year.

Our customers know us as innovators who constantly bring them the best that’s on offer in this industry. In 2023, we reached a new level of technological efficiency, fully digitizing our wash rack and steam informational systems. Not only did this boost efficiency, but it also increased our transparency, reduced redundancy issues, and further streamlined our service processes—a win for all concerned!

Finally, taking care of our team is always forefront in our minds, and 2023 was no exception to this. We set goals for ourselves to improve several internal systems and launch initiatives that would improve our already high-quality company culture. In short, our team is incredible, and we know it. Not for a moment do we lose sight of the fact that our people are integral to our success.

Looking Ahead to 2024

Several projects and goals have us enthusiastic as we plan for the coming year. Chief among them is our goal of garnering recognition as a Responsible Distribution member with the Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD).

The ACD Responsible Distribution program is a well-respected name in this industry, providing a comprehensive set of security, health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards for players in the bulk liquid transportation game. Their guidelines and framework align with our own company values for transparency, stellar communication, and upholding the highest safety standards.

With dips in the last handful of years, the market is inching upward once again, and we at All Chemical are attuned as ever to our customers’ needs, responding and pivoting as the situation requires. In 2024, we’ll be holding to our motto, “There’s nothing we cannot, will not, or do not do for our customers!”

What It’s All About

So, as we approach the end of 2023, what do we most want our current and prospective customers to know?

We care.

We’re not some huge, faceless corporation to whom clients are numbers and all that matters is the bottom line. At All Chemical, we pour our attention and passion into each customer’s order, with great concern for what your service experience is like with us—from the point of first contact through each shipment we complete.

At the other end of every email, every phone call, is a real person on the All Chemical team who genuinely cares about your needs. We put our full effort into each account and every single order we fulfill. And we’re constantly attending to quality: taking to heart whenever something goes awry and putting tremendous energy into improvement.

That’s why, as we enter 2024, we invite you to contact us here at All Chemical when it comes time to tackle your bulk liquid transport needs, and learn for yourself the benefits of working with a customer-centric company like us.

Construction Updates: Expanding Our Capacity to Better Serve Our Customers

Construction Updates: Expanding Our Capacity to Better Serve You

How We Are Updating Our Wash Rack Services and ISO Container Storage

By Anthony Coruccini, Chief Operating Officer

If you’ve been past our Lakewood facility recently, you might have wondered to yourself, What on earth’s making all that racket?

What you’re hearing are the sounds of expansion. In a nutshell, we’ve been hard at work increasing our wash rack, storage, and processing capacity here at All Chemical.

What’s the New Construction All About?

As a well-known and trusted liquid bulk transportation company, All Chemical already offers customers a wide array of services. But we are always seeking to improve and increase them. The new construction means we can boast an even greater storage and wash rack capacity than we have in the past:

  • 4 new ISO container storage pads
  • 16 more steam stations
  • 2 more wash rack bays
  • An updated filtration system

New ISO Container Storage Pads

Well in advance of a secondary containment requirement mandate from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), we have added four separate, distinct container storage pads to our facility.

These pads are designed to achieve a storage capacity of 900 loaded ISO containers, which falls within the NJDEP’s 2022 product storage guidelines for liquid bulk transportation companies like ours. The goal is to prevent discharge from occurring—and to minimize negative effects on the environment if it does occur.

Additional Steam Stations

Our steam services are already stellar, and with the new construction, we’ve taken stellar to legendary levels, increasing the number of steam stations at our facility from 35 to 51. This means we can put over fifty containers out on a steam, able to accommodate unique steam requests—even short notice, weekend, and off-hour projects. This level of service is practically unheard of in the liquid bulk transportation market.

Wash Rack Bays

We’ve added two additional wash rack bays, increasing our capacity even further. Our customers turn to us time and time again because they know All Chemical is a one-stop-shop for liquid bulk transportation. We seamlessly pair steam services with interior tank and container washing for unbelievable all-around convenience.

New Filtration System

We’re also updating our wastewater processing, which will allow us to wash far more products than the already substantial amount we do now.

To understand the significance of this upgrade, let’s take a moment to cover All Chemical’s current ultrafiltration system. Systems like these push the product through a membrane of heavy, woven material that filters small particulates, bacteria, and other undesirable contaminants. Once through the membrane, the resulting waste stream goes to the sewer.

All Chemical’s current system outputs product with almost zero particulates—but the system only works on water-soluble materials.

Now, the new system uses diffused air filtration (DAF), and it is not limited by water-solubility. It removes suspended solids, oils, and other contaminants via the use of air bubble flotation.

What does all this mean for you, the customer? In essence, it means we can deliver better outcomes while simultaneously offering the capacity to handle larger orders than most other liquid bulk transportation companies—and all at the same high safety standards we at All Chemical are known for.

So, if you’ve got any large orders incoming, we’re ready for them! Contact us today to discuss your needs with us and discover for yourself how our upgrades can serve you and your customers.
